Volvo Group Digital Technology & Operations (DTO) is a new division established to integrate the capabilities of VG Digital & IT and VG Connected Solutions to accelerate the digital transformation in Volvo Group. The organizational set up is structured around domains, digital products with functions for digital excellence to deliver outstanding customer experience.

Lead the way in Digital Engineering

Digital Engineering is a global function of Volvo Group DTO uniting data, digital technology and products, and engineering expertise to shape future sustainable transport solutions. With 560 professionals across five international sites, we deliver cutting-edge digital solutions that augment engineering processes. To realize this ambition, we are seeking a strategic Head of Design & Development to lead one of our most critical global domains.

This is how you’ll make an impact 

As Head of Design & Development, you are leading leaders. You are empowered and accountable to lead the organization that delivers digital capabilities in PLM, PDM, CAD and product configuration for Volvo Group. You lead at the intersection of engineering, digital product development, and strategic transformation, enhancing how Volvo develops and releases products with speed, quality and precision.

As a member of the Digital Engineering Leadership Team, you shape the direction and culture of the function.

To achieve this, you will:

• Define and drive the strategic roadmaps for your digital products
• Drive product excellence with an obsession for technology leadership and value creation
• Lead organizational performance, operational excellence and a life-long-learning culture

This role requires inspiring leadership, the ability to turn strategy into action, and a passion for developing people, technology, and digital solutions.

We believe you bring:

• Proven strategic leadership, with 5+ years leading leaders in complex global environments.
• Extensive experience across digital and engineering domains (10+ years).
• Solid understanding of Volvo Group product development processes as well as downstream processes.
• Demonstrated ability to shape product roadmaps and drive organizational performance.
• Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
