ESG Data Specialist at Oatly

Hello potential future Oatly employee

It's us. The original oat drink company. Sustainability, health, and transparency are the core values that guide everything we do. Basically, we exist to make it easy for people to eat better and live healthier lives without recklessly taxing the planet’s resources in the process. If any of this resonates with you, then maybe you’d like work for Oatly, too. Now onto the formal stuff.

We are looking for an ESG Data Specialist to join our Sustainability Reporting & Analytics team in Malmö. This role will be responsible for keeping our ESG data accurate, consistent and well documented, and for running the internal controls over the data we report under CSRD so that our disclosures are evidenced and ready for external assurance. You will also turn that data into clear reports and dashboards the business can use every day.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO
  • Keep ESG data accurate and consistent across the organisation: collect, clean, validate and model it, and maintain the data definitions, documentation and quality checks behind it.

  • Run and document the internal controls over the data reported under CSRD, so that our disclosures are evidenced and ready for external assurance.

  • Support the ESG Reporting Lead through the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycles, gathering and consolidating data from business units and systems on time.

  • Analyse ESG data to spot trends, gaps and patterns worth a closer look

  • Build and maintain the management reports and dashboards that make ESG data easy for stakeholders across the business to use.

  • Contribute to climate-related forecasting, scenario analysis and simulations.

  • Help improve the IT tools and platforms behind ESG data collection and reporting, automating manual steps where you can.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO BRING TO THE TABLE
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in practical experience, ideally within data analytics, finance, environmental science, statistics or a related field.

  • Three to seven years of hands-on experience with sustainability, ESG or comparable quantitative data in a business environment.

  • Strong technical data skills: you clean, validate, model and visualise large datasets with ease, and you know your way around the analytics tools and reporting systems behind them.

  • Working knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks and what audit-ready data demands, ideally including internal controls in a CSRD or financial reporting context.

  • A talent for turning complex data into clear insights and dashboards that non-technical stakeholders can act on, and the precision to get the numbers right when they end up in external disclosures.

  • Fluent English and the collaborative instincts to work across functions, geographies and business units.

WHO WE NEED YOU TO BEWe think your oatsomeness is built upon the following qualities:
  • You are a passionate advocate for sustainability who strives to create societal shifts and drive the plant-based revolution.

  • You have problem-solving skills essential for identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

  • You are a self-starter who enjoys building from scratch and implementing sustainable processes, structures, and tools.

  • You are highly collaborative and understand that our success as a company depends on our ability to work together to find innovative solutions.

  • You have a charismatic presence and a knack for steering conversations while diplomatically focusing the room on what matters.

  • You are an entrepreneur at heart, with the know-how to create forward momentum and the stamina to relentlessly drive the process.

  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and chaos, energized by the challenge of building something lasting that benefits both the world and its people.

To be the perfect fit for Oatly, we believe you have a thirst for knowledge and are a result-driven person with high integrity. You thrive with a hands-on approach, even in times of rapid change. Your social competence allows you to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Finally, we hope that you share our values and have a great interest to carry out our mission in order to make the world a little bit better.
