Senior Project Manager Powertrain Phase-Out

You will lead phase-out initiatives for engine and gearbox platforms in a technically advanced heavy vehicle research and development environment. The assignment focuses on lifecycle management, where components and systems need to be decommissioned in a structured way while safeguarding business continuity, industrial readiness and long-term aftermarket commitments.

This is a cross-functional role with close collaboration across research and development, production and logistics, purchasing, aftermarket and finance. The goal is to deliver transparent execution, strong governance and minimal disruption to operations, service commitments and spare parts availability.

• Lead and coordinate phase-out projects for engine and gearbox platforms.
• Create and maintain structured project plans, timelines and milestones.
• Drive risk identification, mitigation planning and deviation management.
• Coordinate stakeholders across research and development, production and logistics, purchasing, aftermarket and finance.
• Secure industrial and operational readiness throughout the phase-out process.
• Prepare decision support material and status updates for steering committees.
• Drive alignment between technical, operational and financial stakeholders.
• Ensure a structured handover to product maintenance when phase-out activities are completed.
• Promote transparent communication and strong governance throughout the project lifecycle.

• Extensive experience as a senior project manager in product development or research and development environments.
• Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional projects.
• Strong experience with structured project governance and milestone management.
• Experience managing technical lifecycle or phase-out programs.
• Experience working with complex technical systems, preferably within powertrain or similar engineering domains.
• Understanding of product lifecycle management and technology phase-out processes.
• Experience coordinating stakeholders across engineering, production and business functions.
• Strong competence in risk management, mitigation planning and deviation handling.
• Experience preparing decision support material for steering committees and senior stakeholders.
• Degree in engineering, industrial engineering, project management or a similar technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Fluent communication skills in Swedish and English, spoken and written.

• Experience from industrialization or manufacturing environments.
• Experience working with production, supply chain or aftermarket operations.
• Previous experience from the automotive or heavy vehicle industry.
• Experience working with powertrain systems such as engines and transmissions.
